Precautionary recall of selected batches of the product ‘ESN Designer Vegan Protein, Milky Chocolate’ Hamburg, 30.12.2024 - As part of quality management and consumer protection, ESN is recalling selected batches of the product ‘ESN Designer Vegan Protein, Milky Chocolate’ as a precautionary measure.
Only the batches listed below are affected, which were sold at EDEKA, Rewe, Budni, dm, Marktkauf, other selected retail partners and online.
Affected batches:
- ESN Designer Vegan Protein, Milky Chocolate, 280g / Batch: L3324058, best before: 31.01.2026
- ESN Designer Vegan Protein, Milky Chocolate, 910g / Batch: L3324110, best before: 31.01.2026

Soya protein was added as an ingredient as part of a recipe optimisation. For the affected batches, the label was still provided with the original list of ingredients, which is why soya is not listed as an ingredient. There is no health risk for customers without a soya allergy. The product generally meets our high quality standards and can still be consumed without hesitation. Customers with a soya allergy should not consume the product, as a health risk cannot be ruled out.
Information for customers: Our retail partners have already been comprehensively informed and the affected products are currently being removed from the markets. Customers who have purchased one of the products can return it to their point of sale. The purchase price will of course be refunded.
